  • Mon 16 Feb, 2015 12:58 PM ISTGuess who is celebrating the India win against Pakistan!

People who live in maximum city, Mumbai, or people who are hardcore fans of Amitabh Bachchan know that almost every Sunday, the 72-year-old superstar makes it a point to come out of his home, Jalsa, to greet his fans, so much so, that it is now a ritual, a tradition, even for him. At one point, when he returned home from hospital after multiple surgeries three years ago, he still came out to meet his fans, even though he was unwell. Later, he tweeted this message: "The Sunday well wishers! Constant and so regular... touched... walked down to greet them."

Evidently, nothing could stop the superstar from meeting his fans on this historic Sunday, when India beat Pakistan consecutively for the 6th time in World Cup cricket. Amitabh Bachchan, who gave live commentary during the India and Pakistan match Sunday at the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, feels that no emotion and feeling can beat the joy of wrapping the National Flag over the shoulders.

"Such a great joy when you drape the National Flag over your shoulders, wrapped around in patriotic fervour, delighted that one can share that moment with the Sunday well wishers, it is the ultimate emotion," the 72-year-old posted on his blog srbachchan.tumblr.com. "Something stirs you on when it's a matter of country and our team...that effect and feel of being a part of your great country is beyond comprehension...it works for all nations, and each nation feels a sense of pride and value every time the anthem is played...sometimes that moment before a game, any game, is the most poignant and inspiring moment... the game comes after...way after," he added.

  • Thu 5 Feb, 2015 11:38 AM ISTVarun Dhawan's rift with Alia Bhat, why did it happen?

Student Of The Year star Varun Dhawan is all set to release his upcoming film Badlapur. In a recent interview with a daily, the actor shared his excitement and also revealed the reasons behind the change that recently took place in his life.

When asked if he ignored Alia Bhatt at the recent award show, Varun finally broke the ice and revealed the truth. The actor said that when he was on stage, he noticed Sidharth Malhotra, clearly because he is taller and he could spot him easily. The actor also went further and informed that while shooting for his upcoming film Badlapur, he didn’t speak to anyone. The shoot went on till December-end and during that time, Varun totally cut off everyone, including his parents.

When asked if the phase changed anything in his life, especially his relationship with Alia, this is what Varun had to say, “That phase changed my friendship and equation with everyone, not just Alia. That is the price I had to pay to do this film. I actually have lost touch with lot of my school friends. I missed a close friend’s wedding and he really got upset. There have been many casualties in terms of my personal relationships with a lot of people.

Now, obviously, people who are from the industry will speak more about it, but my actual closest friends are not from the industry. So, I will mend those relationships first and then think about the others. I don’t think anyone is upset with me and even if they are they should go watch Badlapur!”

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Badlapur will hit the theatres on February 20, 2015. (Business of Cinema)
