SON OF SARDAAR: Return of Juhi Chawla as a consummate performer

By Enkayaar, Glamsham Editorial

While one is talking with quite a sense of anticipation about the comebacks of Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, one is not talking at all about the comeback of Juhi Chawla as one of the consummate performers of Hindi cinema with her stellar role in SON OF SARDAAR. After all, she has been the contemporary of Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi and has given some solid performances whenever she has been given a chance to do so, and it is indeed in the fitness of the things that her performance in SON OF SARDAAR be underlined as well.

Indeed, Juhi Chawla has positioned herself for strong roles along with the likes of her contemporaries as Sanjay Dutt and has given the Hindi filmmakers to create a new genre of lead star cast comprising of herself along with Sanjay Dutt or Jackie Shroff as parallel character actors through her performance in SON OF SARDAAR.

There may be a view whether the role played by Juhi Chawla in SON OF SARDAAR is a comeback or not considering the fact that Juhi Chawla had been regularly acting in one form or the other. But indeed it is a comeback for Juhi Chawla in the mainstream commercial cinema through SON OF SARDAAR as the roles that she had been enacting where the roles that she was doing in offbeat films, like that in Onir's I AM.

It also needs to be highlighted that it is the silver jubilee of acting for Juhi Chawla in Hindi cinema if one were to trace her acting debut from SULTANAT which was made in 1986, or if one were to discount it and use QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK as the reference point then Juhi Chawla has completed 25 years in Hindi cinema and she is one of those laid back actors who had not bothered to advertise it.

However for the marketing department and the publicity department of SON OF SARDAAR this fact needs to be highlighted for the fans of Juhi Chawla to egg them on to come and watch their favorite star essaying a charming performance once again in SON OF SARDAAR. This marketing strategy could speed up the pace for the film to reach the 100 crore mark.
