'Bold' Mahie not worried about being typecast

Mumbai, Feb 25 (IANS) Mahie Gill picks bold roles, but being typecast in those characters is not something that the actress is worried about.

She has featured in films like "Dev D", "Not A Love Story" and "Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster", in all of which she shed her inhibitions.

"I will not get typecast. I don't think the issue is about revealing, it's about doing particular characters. It's not a big thing. When you are doing a particular character, for which such scenes are required at a particular point of time, you have to do it," Mahie told IANS.

However, she says it is important that an actor is totally convinced about the scene's requirement, and added: "I don't work with some sleazy directors. I have been working with intelligent directors, who are smart and know their job really well.

"It's not that all of a sudden a director asks you to do intimate scenes. During a film's making itself, you yourself feel these scenes are required. So one has to be convinced before doing the scenes."

Mahie is currently gearing up for her next film "Paan Singh Tomar", directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. The film, set for release March 2, also features Irrfan Khan.
